Visualizing the key moments of TdF 2010
This graph is so so nice! It is an innovative way of showing the key moments in the Tour.
Nothing much happened in the overall standings on stage one, but during the crash feast on stage two and on the cobble stones on stage three it was all mayhem. Then it was peace before the storm (stages 4, 5 & 6). When the riders hit the first mountains, the climbs of Jura at stage seven, the standings were reshuffled. The Alpine stages shows up well in the graph. Regarding the overall standings the stage 10 was a transport stage. Stages 11 through 13 did little to the top quarter of the field.
When the racers tackled the Pyrenees on stages 14 to 17 only the top six riders were able to defend their positions. The top two lines crossing shows the moment when Contador took advantage of the chain problems that Schleck suffered. You can also see that some riders in the lower half consistently lost positions in the Pyrenees, while others floated upwards in the general classification.
All this and much more can be seen from this superb graph.

The final reshuffling will be on Saturday, the time trial that will decide the winner of the Tour the France 2010.

Lance is becoming human
Lance has shown more emotions during this Tour than during his winning days. Does not make him worse, I think. If you are pissed off then you are.

Lumberjack
Seriously wide bars, I like those better than narrow ones, even though I never have found the beauty in trick bikes. The tricks are impressive but not the bikes.

Coolest velodrome video ever!
The youngest stayer and his pacemaker (Germany,1928). By UnknownCinema.
Well he newer catches the motorbike, otherwise seriously cool. Nice gear, cute as hell. This could be the next big hit among kids.

The postman has a new bike
You probably all know the film by Jaques Tati about the postman Francois.
It seems that Francois has a new bike, and he crazy about it, apparently.

Madonna, hotpants & climate change
As the climate has gotten warmer over the years the swim suits have gotten smaller. Makes sense.
But Madonna?
No clothes
Shorts
Jeans
ha puma! cougar?
Wrap your bike around the post - WTF!
A cool idea! Read more at LikeCool.com. Design by Kevin Scott. Some kind of ratchet mechanism tightens or loosens the frame.

BS for today #28 - Back to the future: Bowden Spacelander
Time for some bike stamps again, been a while. This is a Vietnamese stamp from 1989 showing the Bowden Spacelander. It belongs to a set of 7 showing modern bicycles.
Benjamin Bowden produced an aluminium prototype back in the 1940's. A commercial fiberglass version was produced in 1960. Only 522 were made, whish I had one. Looks quite futuristic still today. Aluminium and composite materials, too much ahead of its time.
Forget the bike,, originally uploaded by Kiel Bryant.
Apparently reissued in late 1990's. Aluminium disc wheels?
Sweet!
There seems to be someone else interested in bike stamps.

Todays video
I don't post that many trick videos, but this one I really like. I already posted it on my Swedish cycling blog. Well Finnish blog, but in Swedish.
New look
I played around with the design tool and can't probably get back to the old look. But what the h€££ I kinda like the new look. The pasta represents the high carb lunches I love after a nice ride. It probably looks grose for some of you, but I like it like that. Lots of tomato sauce with a generous dash of olive oil. On top some fresh oregano. Does not get much better than that ...
