BS for today #8 Veikkanen in polka dot!

This is an Irish Tour de France stamp from 1998 showing the polka dot jersey. The polka dot jersey (maillot à pois rouges) was introduced in 1975.

Jussi Veikkanen riding for Française des Jeux dressed on the polka dot jersey after stage #2 today (Monaco-Brignoles, 187 km). He is the first Finnish cyclist ever to take any of the TdF jerseys. Of course it is early in the race and no big climbs yet (only category 4&3), but anyway. A great day! Veikkanen won the three last climbs, awarding him 9 points.
